Wednesday, March 01, 2006

i invite all the members of medical fraternity, in maharashtra or outside, to extend their support to MARD in thier struggle for a basic minimum needs demand objective. we need to spread this message wide and far, in writing, visual or by the word of mouth in order to bring out the truth regarding the state of resident doctors in maharashtra. we also need to ensure that the ministers do not turn a deaf ear again to our rightful demands.

in this respect i invite ideas from all brotherhood bringing forth suggetions as to how can we bring out a debate into the media.

kindly join arms in this fight for justice.

This has happened umpteen number of times before and these stupid fricking doctors will once again go back to work on empty promises and nothing will ever change. This is a big nautanki and nothing more.

Way to go! We will strive hard and GET the result this time. Enough of their fairy tales. I request all not to leave a stone unturned. Help direct or indirect matters a lot. Get the matter in print..on SMSs..e-mails. Just that this should be word of mouth for every common man. When everyone comes to know the scenario, then only we can attain success. Keep working..

I have witnessed all these issues as a medical student of a govt medical medical college. I completely agree that doctors should fight for their rights....but i think to make the strike successful good communication with all the supporters is one of the most imp things. unfortunately this never happens...we,thousands of medical students, had supported MARD and missed our classes/practicals for joining the strike few yrs back...but after a few days MARD called off the strike and I still dont know what was the outcome. Also press never knew the real story..I wonder if each and every MARD member knows the exact demands and the exact outcome expected...its very imp that everything is tranparent. And media...which can help us get pulic support is always in the loop.

I have noticed something I got to share. Other newspapers are quite diplomatic or decent enough in what they write. Is MID-DAY being run by politicians(a wild guess!)? Check todays article for instance..Headline- "MARD ke bachche break '99 promise" ..by great Vrushali Lad (whichever corner of the world she is in I hope she soon gets to know the reality). Now such people have begun to question Doctor's integrity. I wonder if they are so principled enough to carry out a neat journalism (not yellow!). This is not the 1st time she has written an offending article, & that too (purposefully) in a paper commonly read by everyone (even in local trains) in Mumbai. All this just to demoralise us..

What you read in newspapers are opinions for the general public. It may go against some1 once in a while. Just because it went against MARD, doesnt make it yellow journalism. Try thinkin abt the bigger pictur here...
